This remarkable long-winged butterfly is simply striking in appearance with its basic black body and wings with impressive vivid yellow stripes. The Zebra Longwing has a calming appearance and is matched quite well with its slow promenading movements. They enjoy the open woodlands and forest edges. This is one of the few butterflies that does not stay in the sunny areas for long periods of time; they enjoy relaxing in the shade. This species can live up to four months. Enjoy this southern species in your garden, as they are a delight to watch.
