Purple Top Grass (Tridens flavus)

This exquisite purple topped perennial grass is a native to the North American prairies. In the spring it appears yellow until it greens. Soon afterwards in the summer, spikes of purple will wave in the wind until it changes to brown for the winter. The long leaf blades that droop down create a wonderful safe haven for many wildlife critters. This is a magnificent grass to plant in a prairie or woodland setting, the animals and insects will love it!
