Spicebush (Lindera benzoin )

This lovely deciduous shrub is an excellent addition to your landscaping or butterfly garden. It can become fairly large, up to 10 feet, but if pruned, can be maintained smaller. The leaves are a light green and, when planted in full sun, will turn a beautiful yellow in the fall. The magnificent Spicebush Swallowtail is attracted to this plant because of the tasty foliage for its caterpillars. This is a great addition to your butterfly gardening dreams.
