Some butterflies use vines (aka climbing plants) as host plants to lay their eggs on and to provide food for their larvae (caterpillars). A few of these are listed below. Vines can add a new dimension to your butterfly garden as they scramble up a trellis or the side of a shed.
Besides a lot of space, most of these vines do not need much attention other than an occasional pruning. But you’ll want to make sure you give their roots room to roam and for their new sprouts to pop up.
