The first step to finding Zebra Swallowtail eggs is to know where to look. This swallowtail lays pale green eggs on Pawpaw leaves. The Pawpaw tree is the only host plant for the Zebra Swallowtail.
Zebra Swallowtail Laying Eggs On Our Pawpaw Trees
Before we could get these four small Pawpaw trees in the ground, a female Zebra Swallowtail found them (amazing!) and proceeded to lay her eggs on them. We just hope we have enough leaves by the time the caterpillars emerge. Watch the video to see where she lays her eggs on the Pawpaw leaves.
