Prairies and fields of native nectar plants are beautiful to behold. They once were a prevalent part of the natural landscape before development and spraying severely diminished them.
Many cities, towns, and municipalities are bringing native wildflowers back by intentionally planting prairies, butterfly gardens, and other native habitats.
Although we do not have space for a prairie garden, we include native wildflowers as food for our butterfly visitors. And there are many to choose from depending on your space and hardiness zone.
